How many sessions do I need?
You should see results from your very first session! Best results are seen after a series of sessions and 12-18 are a good fit for most. We will review the options at your initial consult. It’s like getting a tan, you want to continue to build on it frequently at first, then it’s just maintenance.
How often should you use a Red Light Therapy Bed?
Generally Red Light Therapy works best when used at least 3 times a week for several months in a row. More severe conditions or weight loss may require more sessions. Results will vary for each person.
Is Red Light Therapy similar to tanning?
No not at all. You will not get a tan from Red Light Therapy, nor does it expose you to damaging UV rays. Since the therapy does not alter the pigment or affect the melanin cells of the skin, you will have to find alternate means of obtaining a summer glow.
Should you put anything on before Red Light Therapy?
LED light therapy should be undertaken when the skin is clean – after removing makeup and thoroughly cleansing the skin, and before you apply any serums, moisturizers or treatments.
Are lotions or skin oils okay to use before Red Light Therapy?
It is recommended that you do not apply any lotions or oil before receiving Red Light Therapy. This can reduce the ability of the red light from penetrating the skin.
Do you have to wear goggles in the Red Light Therapy Bed?
It is not required that you wear eye protection, nevertheless the lights are very bright and may be uncomfortable for some individuals with sensitivities to light.
Can you overdo Red Light Therapy?
It has an exceptional safety profile. In fact, you can’t overdo LED light therapy. Overuse won’t cause burning or damage to the skin, but it won’t fast-track your results, either. Generally, LED light therapy works best when used at least three to five times a week over a four to five week period.
What happens to the fat?
After being released, the fat is broken down into free fatty acids and glycerol and enter the blood stream. Once in the blood stream, the fatty acids can be either used as fuel or quickly eliminated by the body.
Do I have to follow a diet?
No changes are required, but you can expect better results if you reduce your caloric intake somewhat, as well as your sugars and starchy carbohydrates and increase your water consumption to 8-10 glasses a day. Meanwhile, reducing alcohol consumption will help the liver.
Do I have to exercise?
Each of your sessions will be followed by 10 minutes on the Whole-Body Vibrational unit to stimulate circulation and help burn the fat that has been released. Additional exercise will certainly increase your results.
